Lesson lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. Start on land with a brief explanation of the use of the board. Entry into the water with mobility exercises, central part dedicated to developing balance through controlled and progressive movements on the board, supplemented by dynamic stretching exercises. Conclusion with breathing and relaxation exercises while floating on the board
Exercises performed on an unstable surface such as water make execution more complex, stimulating a greater ability to balance and control one's body.
Level
To participate safely, it is essential to have some basic skills in SUP (Stand Up Paddle).
In particular, you are required to:
- Know how to swim;
- Lead the SUP independently, i.e.:
o Maintain an upright position on the board;
o Turn and manoeuvre correctly;
o Paddle upwind;
o Manage the board even in waves or unfavourable conditions.
The lesson includes physical exercises performed directly on the board, so it is essential to have mastery of SUP handling, both to get the most out of the experience and to ensure the safety of the group.
In the absence of such skills, participation will not be permitted and access to the class will be denied by the instructor. If you have any doubts about the possibility of participating in the class, please contact us at sport@usi.ch.
When
The meeting is set for Tuesday 29 July at 17:30 at the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano, Via Foce 11, 6900 Lugano.
Equipment
All technical equipment is provided by the Sports Service (SUP, paddle, life jacket). We recommend bringing: swimming costume, Lycra T-shirt, sun cream, slippers.
Lockers are provided for storing personal belongings: we recommend that you bring your own padlock. In their absence, it is recommended not to bring valuables. Changing rooms with showers are available on site.
Price
- USI/SUPSI students: 10 CHF
- USI/SUPSI collaborators: 15 CHF
- Family members: 20 CHF
Partecipation
The activity will only be held if there are at least 3 participants, with a maximum of 9 people. In case of adverse weather conditions, the event will be cancelled and all participants will receive a full refund.
Refund conditions in case of cancellation
- 100% reimbursement upon presentation of a medical certificate
- 80% reimbursement by 14 July
- 50% refund by 21 July
No refunds less than one week before the event, as for non-attendance
To proceed with your refund request, please contact the Sport Service by email stating the event and the reason for cancellation. Refund conditions will be applied according to the date of the request.

Please note that the number of participants is limited and the order in which registrations/payments are received will be taken into account. It is not possible to reserve places in advance without making payment.
