Sailing boats and SUP - Circolo Velico Lugano

USI students and collaborators can rent sailing boats of various types and SUP boards at the Circolo Velico di Lugano.

The offer is intended exclusively for USI community (students and collaborators), SUPSI users are invited to contact the Servizio Carriera, esperienza e orientamento at sport@supsi.ch.

Prices

By presenting their USI card at the cashier's desk, students and collaborators can take advantage of the following reduced rates for half-day rentals:

• Laser: 30 CHF
• Omega: 60 CHF
• Yanglin: 65 CHF
• Topaz: 50 CHF
• SUP*: 12.5 CHF

*Rate for 2 hours

A deposit of CHF 100 or the deposit of an identity document will be required at the time of payment.

Boat characteristics

• Laser: single-handed dinghy. Simple and fun, it is the ideal boat for every sporty sailor.
• Omega: the new school boats, which replaced the old ‘Violin 18’. A fun boat for 4-5 people. Complete with jib, mainsail and gennaker, ideal for an outing with family or friends.
• Yngling: keel for two to four people. Sporty but comfortable boat.
• Topaz 14: sports catamaran for 2 persons. Fast and safe.

Rental hours

• From 1 April to 31 May and from 16 September to 13 October:
  • Weekend: 13:30-18:00
  • Weekdays: only on advance booking
• From 1 June to 15 September:
  • daily: 13:30-18:00
• 14 October to 31 March:
  • Winter closure

Outside these hours, it is still possible to hire by prior reservation on 079 290 14 20.

Each user assumes full responsibility in the event of accidents or damage caused to the equipment or infrastructure. For further information, please read the detailed rental conditions.

Rental conditions

The applicant must have proven navigational skills. Certificates or patents may be useful for this purpose. The person in charge of the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano may decide not to charter a boat to a person if weather conditions or the applicant's abilities do not permit this.
