Wingfoil

Want to learn the new discipline of gliding on water? Wingfoil is a balancing game that allows you to experience extraordinary thrills in relative safety. 
The Sport Service offers a basic course in which instruction by our instructors and equipment suitable for beginners and intermediates will be provided.

Once they have reached the level suitable for getting out on the water safely, participants can continue the activity independently at the Porlezza nautical base.
 

Level

A basic knowledge of windsurfing is required to learn it (approx. two lessons of 2 hours each). A passion for the water and constancy in training are also required. For the most gifted, a level can be reached within 5-6 lessons, and for the others, at least 10-15 training sessions are required.

Courses for young people from 14 years of age can be organised on request

Period

Courses and outings on the water will be held in May, June, August and September on Lake Lugano, during July at the nautical base in Greece.

Course dates, depending on weather and wind conditions, will be communicated via Whatsapp chat at least 2 days in advance. Follow this link to join the group and stay updated on upcoming courses.

Participants

Individual courses will be open to a maximum number of 3 participants per instructor. The course will be held in both Italian and English, with Italian being preferred.

Required knowledge

It is essential to be able to swim in open water and have a minimum of physical fitness, in particular a good sense of balance will facilitate learning on the board.

Material

All material for practice in the water is provided by the Sport Service. Personal clothing (possible neoprene wetsuit, jacket, helmet, neoprene booties) is also organised by the Sport Service

Price

• Fee for use of the nautical base: 30 euros per season
• Cost for USI SUPSI students: 30 CHF per day, material included
• Cost for USI SUPSI collaborators, students from other universities: 50 CHF per day, material included
• Cost for friends and family: 70 CHF per day, material included

Registration and payment

Registration for courses via survey published in the Whastapp group: WINDSURF, WINGFOIL, SAIL

Payment directly on site, preferably in cash.
