A New Year’s celebration in the Alps, dedicated to those who love skiing in total freedom!
Five days to enjoy the slopes of Andermatt and the welcoming atmosphere of Airolo, with the possibility to add optional days of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.
This experience is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders who wish to enjoy the mountains at their own pace — but in good company.

On the evening of December 31, we’ll celebrate the arrival of the New Year together with a festive dinner at the lodge.

Indicative Program

Saturday, December 28 – Arrival and Welcome
Arrival in the evening in Airolo, check-in at the Casa della Sostenibilità, and welcome dinner.
Presentation of the program and transportation schedule.

Sunday, December 29 – Tuesday, December 31 – Independent Skiing or Snowboarding (Andermatt–Sedrun–Disentis)
Three full days of free skiing in the renowned Andermatt ski area.
Participants are free to choose their own slopes and pace, with organized group transport between Airolo and Andermatt.
This activity is reserved for intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders who can confidently handle red and black runs independently.

Wednesday, January 1 – Cross-Country Skiing (Optional)
For those who prefer a slower rhythm, a day dedicated to cross-country skiing in Val Bedretto or the Ursern Valley.
Suitable even for beginners.

Thursday, January 2 – Snowshoe Hike (Optional) and Camp Closing
A relaxing snowshoe excursion in the surroundings of Airolo — the perfect way to unwind after intense days on the slopes.
Departure in the afternoon.

Personal Equipment

Participants must come with appropriate sports clothing for the activity.
We recommend dressing in layers for outdoor activities — further information will be provided to participants before the event.

Equipment Provided by the Sports Service (Daily fee: 20 CHF, to be paid directly on site)

Accommodation and Meals

Overnight stay at the Casa della Sostenibilità in Airolo, in 6-bed rooms.
Breakfast and dinner are included and organized on-site.
Any food intolerances or allergies must be communicated at the time of registration.

Want to help us be more sustainable?
Bring your own bed linen set (pillowcase 50×70, mattress cover 80×200, and duvet cover 140×200).
Alternatively, you can rent a complete set on-site for 15 CHF.

Transport

The Sports Service offers all participants train transportation to and from Airolo — an eco-friendly choice that reduces environmental impact and ensures a comfortable journey for everyone.
During the weekend, the Airolo–Andermatt (round trip) transfer will be organized with group trains at specific times.

Important note:
The Airolo–Andermatt ticket is not included in the camp fee.
The cost is 10 CHF (round trip), to be paid directly on-site.
For organizational reasons, it is mandatory to reserve your seat when registering.
Ticket requests received less than 4 days before the start of the camp cannot be accepted.

Price

  • USI/SUPSI students: 250 CHF
  • USI/SUPSI staff and faculty, USI Alumni, students from other Swiss universities: 350 CHF
  • Accompanying persons/family members, SUPSI Alumni: 425 CHF

At the time of purchase, the participant’s university card category (student, staff, or faculty) will be used as the official reference.

Refund policy

  • 100% refund upon presentation of a medical certificate
  • 80% refund within 2 weeks of the camp
  • 50% refund within 1 week of the camp
  • No refund less than one week before the camp, as in the case of non-attendance
  • If the Sports Service cancels the camp due to bad weather or organizational reasons, participants will receive a full refund of the amount paid.

To proceed with your refund request, please contact the Sport Service by email, indicating the event and the reason for cancellation. Refund conditions will apply based on the date of the request.
