Wednedsay, January 7 – Excursion 1: Capanna Foisch
The ascent to Capanna Föisc is one of the most beloved ski-touring excursions in the Airolo region: an accessible, scenic and highly rewarding itinerary.
The route unfolds across open, even slopes, with a steady progression that allows you to climb without encountering demanding technical sections. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning views over the Leventina Valley, the Gotthard massif and the surrounding mountains.
The area around the hut, located on a wide plateau, offers a peaceful atmosphere and a magnificent view over Airolo and the peaks that dominate the pass.
The descent follows gentle, never too steep slopes—ideal for consolidating your technique in fresh snow.
Thursday, January 8 – Nufenen pass region
The tour takes place in the beautiful Nufenen Pass area (Nufenenpass), one of the most accessible and scenic spots in the Bedretto Valley for ski touring. In winter, the road is closed and the plateau turns into an ideal environment for an excursion on wide, even and never too steep slopes.
The route unfolds across the plateau toward the pass, offering magnificent views of the Grieshorn, the Blinnenhorn and the entire snow-covered valley.
It’s a perfect option for anyone looking to experience authentic ski touring in a safe and evocative setting, without the technical challenges of more demanding routes.
Friday, Januray 9 – Pigne Lake
The outing to Lago delle Pigne is a classic itinerary in the Airolo region, ideal for those seeking an excursion immersed in nature, with wide, quiet and evocative landscapes.
The route develops over gentle, even slopes, passing through wooded areas and broad clearings that gradually open up to wider and wider views over the Bedretto Valley and the surrounding mountains.
The ascent does not include particularly technical sections and allows for steady, pleasant progress.
The Lago delle Pigne area, completely covered in snow during winter, offers a pristine and enchanting landscape—perfect for a panoramic break before the descent.
The descent follows wide, moderate slopes, ideal for practicing technique on natural snow in complete safety.
A highly recommended outing for anyone looking for a truly authentic mountain day, far from the crowds, in a peaceful and wonderfully atmospheric setting.
Depending on terrain and weather conditions, the program may be subject to changes.
