Mendrisio swimming pool

The City of Mendrisio promotes physical activity by offering discounted access to the indoor swimming pool at the Canavee School Center in Mendrisio.

Through a collaboration with the Sport Service, students and collaborators of the Academy of Architecture can obtain special passes to access the Canavee Swimming Pool in Mendrisio on certain days and at certain times. 

There are two cards available, the “yellow” and the “green,” each with specific benefits.

Yellow card

The “yellow” card, available for purchase, grants access on the following days and during the following times:

• Tuesday: 8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Thursday: 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 

The card is reserved for students of the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and costs CHF 40.

Green card

The green card, available free of charge, allows access exclusively on Thursdays, between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Administrative collaborators at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio

Administrative collaborators at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio can use the Canavée swimming pool free of charge on Mondays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. upon presentation of their badge. During these times, the facility will only be accessible to USI administrative collaborators and SE teachers from the Mendrisio school.

When

The pool is only accessible between Thursday, October 9, 2025, and Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Outside of the times listed above, access to the pool is not permitted.
 

The pool is closed on public holidays and during the following school holidays:

• from November 1 to November 9, 2025
• from December 24, 2025 to January 6, 2026
• from February 14 to 22, 2026
• March 19, 2026
• from April 2 to 12, 2026

Registration and collection

To obtain a card, you must submit the attached “Personal Data Card Application” form, duly completed, to the reception desk of the Academy of Architecture, along with a medical certificate confirming the absence of fungal or viral foot infections (available from pharmacies) and a passport-size photograph.

By presenting the required documents, you can obtain the “green” card or purchase the “yellow” card with cash or card payment directly at the reception desk during opening hours: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
