Gialova
The Sport Service offers a fantastic sports holiday lasting from (a choice of) one to four weeks in the Peloponnese, Greece.
Gialova is located in the extreme southwest of the Peloponnese and has an enclosed bay that is ideal for teaching water sports. Nature invites for wonderful walks in beautiful and unspoiled surroundings while culture lovers can visit archaeological sites.
The center of Gialova also offers charming and typical restaurants in a simple but attractive setting.
Nautical Sports Base
- Overnights: At the Erodios campsite (directly by the sea).
Tents, mattresses and mattress covers, pillows with covers and blankets (for those without their own) are provided by the Sport Service.
The Sport Service base camp is set up on spacious pitches within the campsite. Depending on the option chosen, two-person tents for single use or three-person tents to be shared are available. - A few steps from the base camp you will find toilets with individual showers, a restaurant and a small grocery shop.
A 10-minute walk along the beach takes you to the centre of Gialova where you can find everything you need for the camp and typical restaurants. - Food: all meals are at the participants’ expense. For those who wish, it is possible to purchase a communal breakfast prepared by the Sport Service team. The base camp is equipped with camping kitchens and all the necessary facilities to allow participants to cook individually or in groups.
Activity
- Windsurfing, wingfoil and sailing lessons for beginners and intermediate participants.
- Kayaking and SUP lessons.
- Nature excursions on foot, by E-bike (on paved roads or easy gravel paths), or by canoe through the typical Mediterranean landscape.
All activities are led by instructors and monitors from the Sport Service.
Transport
The airline Ryanair operates flights on the Bergamo–Kalamata and Kalamata–Bergamo routes every Friday's. We recommend purchasing flights as early as possible.

Our camps are designed for USI and SUPSI students, staff, and students from other Swiss universities, but the offer is also open to family members and friends who wish to share the experience.
By proceeding with the purchase, the user accepts the instructions and rules of conduct of the Sport Service, available in the 'Attachements' section.

Refund conditions
Refund conditions
- Reimbursement of 100% upon presentation of a medical certificate
- Reimbursement of 80% within 3 months of the event
- 50% reimbursement within 2 months of the event
- No reimbursement less than 2 months of the event, as for non-attendance
To proceed with your refund request, please contact the Sport Service by email stating the event and the reason for cancellation. Refund conditions will be applied according to the date of the request sport@usi.ch

Waiting list
In case of sold-out, SOLD OUT seats, please contact the Sport Service to be placed on the waiting list.

Insurance
Participants are required to check the suitability of their insurance cover both in Switzerland and abroad. During all USI Sport Service activities it is compulsory to carry one's own insurance card or document.
We strongly recommend REGA patronage membership for 40 CHF/year.
