- Location: Auditorium Brere
In this specialist group, we aim to inform, discuss, and exchange ideas with each other about the trends we see emerging in the world of sport and physical activity, and how we as a university sports organisation deal with them.
What trends do we observe outside of the current university sports offerings?- What new “sports” do we notice emerging?
- What requests are brought to us – and by whom?
- What developments do we observe regarding the format of activities (led sessions, self-directed, new formats)?
What trends or innovations have we added to our programme over the past 1–2 years?- Please bring a list of new activities introduced in the last 1–2 years to the specialist group meeting.
How do we at the university sports organisation deal with trends (and requests)?- How are such decisions made? Are there guidelines or principles for evaluating new activities (e.g. in the strategy or mission statement)?
- How is the balance struck between existing activities and new ideas (e.g. when infrastructure is limited and not everything can be accommodated)?
- Are new activities integrated continuously or at regular intervals (e.g. annually)?
- Who decides on new activities? How is it decided what gets added and what doesn't? How is a rejection justified?
Preparatory task:Explain the following questions for your own HSO in 1 minute each or write them down on flipcharts (list of trends).
- What trends outside the existing university sports (programme) do we observe?
- Which trends / innovations have we included in the programme in the last 1-2 years?
